SUMMARY:CYPRUS ERC INFO-DAY “2025 ERC CALLS”
DESCRIPTION:The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) organises an info-day on the upcoming Calls for Proposals in the frame of the 2025 ERC Work Programme (WP)\, on Thursday 11 July 2024\, 11:00 – 13:00 (Cyprus time)\, online via ZOOM. \nThe event aims to inform potential applicants about the ERC grants\, with emphasis on the 2025 ERC Work Programme Calls\, which is part of HORIZON EUROPE\, the EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 2021-2027. Presentations will cover the different funding schemes of ERC and their specificities\, by Mr Andre Vieira\, Project Adviser of the ERC Executive Agency (ERCEA)\, while the ERC National Contact point will present services offered at national level\, as well as national funding schemes to support potential applicants. DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar: The European Researchers’ Night is returning to the State Fair on September 27th! \n “Mission Possible”: live experiments\, science competitions and interactive games \n  \n \nUnder the motto “Mission Possible: Researchers on Board for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future\,” the European Researchers’ Night returns for its 18th year on Friday\, September 27\, at the State Fair in Nicosia. \nFrom 08.30 in the morning until 10 in the evening\, young and old alike are expected to enjoy an exciting experience at the annual celebration of science\, research and innovation. The event is organised by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF)\, in collaboration with the country’s main research\, innovation and business organisations\, and under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus\, Mr Nicos Christodoulides. \nThe event is an initiative of the European Commission (EC) and takes place simultaneously in more than 23 countries and 400 cities in and outside of Europe\, all with the aim of promoting a culture of research\, bringing science to society and innovation\, and highlighting the research activities carried out by universities\, research centers and innovative businesses. \nThe central theme of this year’s event is again the themes related to the 5 EU Missions to develop innovative solutions to the following global challenges: 1) Adapting to Climate Change\, 2) Cancer\, 3) Healthy Oceans\, Seas and Coastal and Inland Waters\, 4) Climate Neutral and Smart Cities and 5) Soil and Food Health. \nAs part of the European Researchers’ Night\, scientists\, academics\, researchers and startuppers will leave their workplaces for a while and present their activities and achievements to the general public.
