The Committee consists of permanent members (members of the Board of<br \/>\nDirectors of the RIF) and temporary members selected on the basis of the annual thematic<br \/>\narea for the Award.<\/p>\n<p>The Evaluation criteria are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quality of the Research Activity<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quality of the most important research results of the nominee, with emphasis on the last five (5) years, their importance and impact at an international level.<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of the use and exploitation of the results of the research activity for the improvement of the quality of life in Cyprus, the wider European area or globally or\/and the possibility of commercial exploitation, introduction in the international market and patent registration.<\/li>\n<li>Publications in notable international scientific journals, books, chapters in books or monographs and presentations in high impact international conferences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Overall Career<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Awards and honorary distinctions, member of scientific boards and academies.<\/li>\n<li>Important collaborations with distinguished researchers\/entities abroad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leadership skills and ability to inspire the next generation of Note that own investments, or sponsorship income as private investment are not taken into account as revenue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> It is noted that a Start-up is any small enterprise not listed in the stock exchange up to five years after its registration, which (a) has not taken over the activity of another enterprise, (b) has still not distributed profits, and (c) has not been incorporated through a merger. For eligible enterprises not subject to registration, the five-year period may be deemed to start from the time that the enterprise either starts its financial activity or becomes liable to pay tax for its financial activity.
