{"id":28283,"date":"2026-09-11T15:55:23","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T12:55:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.research.org.cy\/?p=28283"},"modified":"2026-09-11T15:55:23","modified_gmt":"2026-09-11T12:55:23","slug":"record-number-of-applications-for-pre-seed-as-interest-in-creating-and-growing-startups-in-cyprus-continues-to-rise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.research.org.cy\/en\/record-number-of-applications-for-pre-seed-as-interest-in-creating-and-growing-startups-in-cyprus-continues-to-rise\/","title":{"rendered":"Record Number of Applications for PRE-SEED as Interest in Creating and Growing Startups in Cyprus Continues to Rise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>11 September 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Record Number of Applications for PRE-SEED as Interest in Creating and Growing Startups in Cyprus Continues to Rise<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>284 proposals submitted under the Research and Innovation Foundation\u2019s new Call, highlighting the growing momentum and competitiveness of Cyprus\u2019 innovation ecosystem<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The submission process for the PRE-SEED\/0526 Call under the RIF \u201cCreation and Initial Development of Startups with International Orientation (PRE-SEED)\u201d Programme was successfully completed today, Friday, 11 September 2026.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 284 proposals were successfully submitted through RIF\u2019s Portal, IRIS, marking a record level of participation for the Programme.<\/p>\n<p>The particularly high level of participation is a strong indication of the growing momentum in Cyprus\u2019 startup sector, as an increasing number of teams and businesses seek to transform innovative ideas into products and services with international growth potential.<\/p>\n<p>The increased interest in the Programme and the record number of proposals further confirm the dynamism of Cyprus\u2019 startup ecosystem, while highlighting the importance of continuously strengthening the opportunities available to new and innovative businesses. The development of additional, appropriately targeted funding and support instruments can play a decisive role in unlocking the potential of entrepreneurial ideas emerging in the country and transforming them into sustainable businesses with international prospects.<\/p>\n<p>The Programme aims to support the creation and initial development of startups developing innovative products and services with the potential to enter and compete in international markets.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal selection process will now follow.
