{"id":28323,"date":"2026-09-29T15:05:50","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T12:05:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.research.org.cy\/?p=28323"},"modified":"2026-09-29T15:05:50","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T12:05:50","slug":"public-consultation-on-the-proposed-research-and-innovation-funding-portfolio-2028-2034","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.research.org.cy\/en\/public-consultation-on-the-proposed-research-and-innovation-funding-portfolio-2028-2034\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Consultation on the Proposed Research and Innovation Funding Portfolio 2028\u20132034"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF), as part of the preparations for the new programming period 2028\u20132034, has developed a proposed new funding portfolio aimed at strengthening Cyprus\u2019 research and innovation (R&amp;I) ecosystem and maximising the economic and societal impact of public investment.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed funding portfolio aims to establish a more integrated and impact-oriented framework that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>inspires and develops the next generation of talent,<\/li>\n<li>strengthens research excellence and national capabilities,<\/li>\n<li>supports the development of state-of-the-art research infrastructure,<\/li>\n<li>facilitates knowledge transfer and the commercialisation of research results,<\/li>\n<li>supports innovative entrepreneurship and business innovation,<\/li>\n<li>mobilises private investment, and<\/li>\n<li>enhances the international competitiveness of Cyprus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The proposed portfolio architecture is structured around five interconnected pillars:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research | Knowledge Transfer | Innovation | Infrastructure &amp; Skills | Internationalization<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each pillar comprises a portfolio of programmes designed to address specific challenges and opportunities while creating coherent pathways through which talent, knowledge, technologies and ideas can progress, grow and deliver measurable economic and societal impact.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Invitation to Participate in the Consultation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>RIF invites all stakeholders of the Research and Innovation ecosystem to review the proposed portfolio and provide their views and suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>The present consultation focuses on the <strong>overall portfolio <\/strong><strong>design<\/strong><strong> and its underlying intervention logic<\/strong>, rather than on the detailed design of individual funding programmes.
