Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) Sponsorship Programme
The Foundation’s strategic objective of cultivating a culture of Research and Innovation (R&I), including skills development, within the ecosystem and the public through actions that support R&I is promoted through the RIF Sponsorship Programme.
The 2025 Sponsorship Programme consists of two Calls for Applications.
The Call for Applications with Id SPONSORSHIPS/COMP/0325 concerns the representation of Cyprus in international competitions.
The Call for Applications with Id SPONSORSHIPS/EVENTS/0325 concerns the organisation of events aiming at:
(a) promoting and showcasing topics related to research, technological development, and innovation to the public, and/or
(b) promoting the acquisition of digital and STEM skills, as well as their use in innovation and entrepreneurship.
International Competitions
The Call SPONSORSHIPS/COMP/0325 of the 2025 Sponsorship Programme concerns the representation of Cyprus in international competitions in the fields of science, research, and innovation. Specifically, it aims to support school and university student teams to participate in International Competitions, with the following objectives:
- To encourage their engagement and involvement in science, research, technological development, and innovation,
- To strengthen their efforts to successfully participate in outreach activities that showcase both their work and Cyprus on an international level, and
- To contribute, in long term, to cultivating a culture of research and innovation in broader society, especially among the younger generation.
For the Call for Applications: 2025 Sponsorship Programme – International Competitions

APPLICATION SUBMISSION AND IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD
Applications must relate to the period specified in the Call and must be submitted within the specified deadline, as outlined below:
Application Submission Deadline: 17/03/2026
Implementation Period: 17/06/2025 – 16/06/2026
The application consists of the following parts:
- Application Form. The application for sponsorship must be submitted using the designated submission form, available here, and must be submitted in PDF format, together with the required annexes, to the following email address: [email protected].
- Annexes – Documents to be submitted with the application:
- Declaration of Single Undertaking (for private sector entities)
- Proof of registration of beneficial owners in the relevant national registry (for private legal entities)
National competitions must take place during the implementation period for which the application is submitted.
Applicants are invited to submit their applications in Greek or English, using the relevant submission form, which must not exceed two (2) pages in length.
Completion of Activity
Upon completion of participation in the International Competition, the organizing entity must submit a brief Report of Activities to the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) no later than one (1) month after the event. The report must include proof of the students’ participation in the international competition, description of their participation in the competition and provide the final ranking of the team (where applicable).

Promotion of RIF’s Role
It must be ensured that the role of the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) is adequately promoted through the display and communication of participation in the International Competition, both before the competition, during participation, and after its completion (e.g., acknowledgment of funding and RIF logos in press releases, social media posts, team shirts, etc.).
During the awards ceremony of the National Competition, the support of RIF for the participation of the winners in the International Competition must be acknowledged.

Events
The Call for Applications SPONSORSHIPS/EVENTS/0325 of the 2025 Sponsorship Programme concerns the organization of events aiming at:
- Promoting and showcasing topics related to research, technological development, and innovation to the public, and/or
- Promoting the acquisition of digital and STEM skills, as well as their application in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Through this Call, the aim is to support organizations that are hosting high-quality and impactful events, primarily focused on promoting and showcasing research, technological development, and innovation, as well as fostering the development of digital and STEM skills within the public.

The application consists of the following parts:
- Application Forms providing details about the event to be organized:
The application for securing sponsorship is submitted using the specific submission forms (Category A, Category B), which are available here and must be submitted in PDF format, along with the attachments, to the following email address: [email protected] .
- Attachments – forms that are attached with the application:
- Event Program
- Declaration of Single Undertaking (for private sector entities)
- Proof of registration of actual beneficiaries in the relevant national registry (for private sector entities)
The events must be held during the implementation period for which the application is submitted
Activity Completion
Upon completion of the event, the Organization must submit to the RIF, no later than one (1) month afterwards, an Impact Report for the implemented activity. The report should include an evaluation of the achievement of the initial objectives and the expected impact, with specific reference to the participation and outreach of the event, as well as a financial report detailing all organizational expenses.
