Upcoming New Call – Open Access Research Infrastructures

The Research and Innovation Foundation will soon announce the new funding programme “Open Access Research Infrastructures”, with a budget of €7.500.000 and a maximum funding amount of €500.000 per project.

The aim of the Programme is to strengthen the country’s research capabilities through the acquisition of cutting-edge equipment for experiments and testing, which will be transparently accessible to the research and business community.

In order to better prepare, it is noted that the Call will require the submission of the following documents:

(a) Open Access Policy

(b) At least two (2) Letters of Interest from other Organizations to use the proposed research infrastructure.

(c) Estimation of the cost of the equipment based on 3 comparable bids from 3 independent bidders that can meet the requirements of the Institution (financial bids should be submitted).

Entities interested in participating in the Programme are encouraged to start the necessary procedures to obtain the abovementioned required documents in a timely manner to ensure the timely and smooth submission of their proposal under the upcoming Programme. The announcement of the Call is expected in May 2025 with a closing date in June 2025.

The Programme is open to Research Organisations.

 The Call will be announced with strict timelines due to additional funding from the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan, the implementation of which is expected to be completed in June 2026.
