Opportunities to participate in new Actions of the European COST Program

The Research and Innovation Foundation ((RIF) would like to inform about new opportunities to participate in COST Actions.

The COST Programme (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) aims to create networking and cooperation opportunities for researchers, in order to strengthen the European area in dealing with and managing scientific, technological and social challenges. In particular, COST finances the costs of coordination and management of Networks, known as COST Actions, which are collaboration networks of researchers from different countries, who conduct research work on a similar subject. It should be noted that COST does not cover the costs of conducting research and innovation activities.

Seventy new Actions were approved by COST  in 2021 with Cyprus being currently represented in 33 of them. The following list of Actions, includes those without representatives from Cyprus at the Management Committee level. Interested researchers are invited to submit  an application to RIF, which functions as the National Coordinator for the COST Programme, after studying the aims and activities of the Action described in  each Action’s Memorandum of Understanding found on the COST website and the Criteria and the National Rules, Procedures and Obligations. Researchers who are employed in the public or private sector in Cyprus and who are active in research, at the time of submitting the application, in a field relevant to the activities of the Action, are eligible to participate. It should be noted that each COST member country is allowed to nominate up to two (2) researchers as Management Committee Delegates (MCs) in any given Action.

For more information, you may contact the responsible Officer of RIF and COST National Coordinator, Ms. Katerina Karakasidou ([email protected], 22205036).
