New Call for Proposals RIF-CKTO/CAP-ENHANCE/0526 and Extension of the Deadline of the Calls for Proposals CKTO/SPOKES/0326
The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) announces the launch of the new Call for Proposals “Local KTO Staffing & Capacity Enhancement” under Call Identifier RIF-CKTO/CAP-ENHANCE/0526.
The National Knowledge Transfer System operates under a Hub-and-Spoke model, where the Central Knowledge Transfer Office (CKTO) at RIF serves as the central hub, while Local Knowledge Transfer Offices (LKTOs) hosted within Research Organisations operate as the spokes. The present Call aims to further strengthen the national knowledge transfer ecosystem by enhancing the operational capacity, quality of services, and long-term sustainability of Local Knowledge Transfer Offices.
The Call provides co-funding for the employment of one (1) full-time Knowledge Transfer Officer (KTO) who will be dedicated exclusively to knowledge transfer activities, including research results exploitation, intellectual property support, industry engagement, commercialisation activities, and knowledge transfer services.
Eligible beneficiaries are Local Knowledge Transfer Offices that have been approved as “SPOKES” through Calls RIF-KTO/SPOKES/1023, RIF-CKTO/SPOKES/0424, or RIF-CKTO/SPOKES/0326.
The total Call budget amounts to €700,000, while the maximum funding per LKTO is €35,000, with an aid intensity of up to 50% of eligible costs.
Proposals must be submitted through the RIF IRIS Portal. The Call will remain open until 17 December 2026 or until the available budget is exhausted.
At the same time, RIF announces the extension of the submission deadline for Call CKTO/SPOKES/0326. The new submission deadline is 30 October 2026 at 13:00 (local time), or until the available budget is exhausted, whichever occurs first.
